An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, life for life. Is this justice?
At times, a person, from a self centered or hostile perspective, may take an action which causes harm to another person or object. The threat of harm or loss (fear of punishment) may enable that person to avoid causing the harm or prevent the harm from recurring.
Restorative Justice
A change of perspective can help a person to see the harm they are causing and change their behavior. With a change in perspective and deeper understanding of the harm, the person can not only avoid causing harm, but can take steps to help ease the hurt that was caused.
